Owosso Speedway

Owosso Speedway is a motorsports facility located at 7204 W M21 in Ovid, Michigan, owned and operated by Rex Wheeler. Despite its name referencing the nearby city of Owosso, the track sits within Ovid and serves the broader mid-Michigan region. The speedway hosts a variety of racing divisions across its schedule, including Super Late Models, Outlaw Super Late Models, CRA-sanctioned classes, Modifieds, Pure Stocks, and Mini Wedge classes. One of the signature events on the calendar is the Owosso Nationals, a multi-day weekend that draws competitors from outside the regular weekly roster and features a condensed, high-volume racing format running across Friday and Saturday. The Nationals weekend includes private track testing time on the Thursday prior to competition, with pit access restricted during those sessions.

For the Nationals event, the facility accommodates a large number of haulers and teams with a structured pit parking system. Designated stalls along the southeast Carland Road side of the pits are reserved for CRA teams on Saturday, with adjacent spaces held for Outlaw Super Late Model teams sharing resources with CRA entries. The remainder of pit stalls are open on a first-come basis, with early pit parking available beginning Thursday evening after testing concludes.

Camping is available on the property for a nominal fee, with reservations handled directly through track staff. Amenities in the camping area include portable restrooms and firewood available for purchase at the track. For spectators, general admission gates open at 4:00 PM on both Friday and Saturday of the Nationals weekend, with racing beginning at approximately 6:00 PM Friday and 6:30 PM Saturday, subject to car count. Electronic general admission tickets are sold through Showpass. Drivers new to the event are encouraged to complete registration paperwork, tax forms, and any required minor release forms in advance to streamline check-in.
