Area 50 MX

Area 50 MX is a motocross track facility located at 8395 Cargill Road in Brown City, Michigan. Previously operating under the name Freelin MX, the facility has continued under new branding while maintaining its focus on recreational and practice riding for motocross enthusiasts in the region.

The facility features two separate MX tracks. The main track is built on a clay and dark topsoil mix and is intended to accommodate riders across a range of skill levels. A dedicated kids track is also available, providing a smaller and more appropriate environment for younger or less experienced riders. Practice sessions are occasionally divided by rider ability to manage traffic on the track at any given time.

Area 50 MX offers fully equipped campsites for overnight guests, along with restrooms and shower facilities on site. Riders must stop at the registration building upon arrival to pay and complete waivers before taking to the track. A gate fee of five dollars per person applies to all who enter the facility, separate from the riding fees. Riding the main track costs thirty-five dollars per rider, while the kids track is twenty-five dollars. All riders under eighteen must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or have a completed and submitted release form on file. Required safety gear includes a helmet, goggles, gloves, boots, and full-length clothing.

The facility also offers four-hour private track rentals for up to thirty riders at a cost of twelve hundred dollars, covering access to both tracks, restrooms, and snacks and drinks. Rentals operate from noon to 4:00 p.m. and must be booked at least two weeks in advance. Spectators attending rental sessions pay five dollars per person. A 2026 practice schedule is published on the venue’s website, and current updates regarding weather and cancellations are posted to the facility’s Facebook page.
