Northern Power Race Park

Northern Power Race Park is a 72-acre motorsports facility located at 2201 Valley Rd in Mancelona, Michigan, situated off US-131 in the northern part of the state. Founded in 2021 by Marc Archambault, the park describes itself as the only public snocross track in Michigan. From 2021 through 2022 the property was leased to outside event promoters; in early 2023 Archambault brought operations in-house, hired a dedicated staff, and undertook significant facility renovations that included new snowmaking infrastructure and an updated track layout.

Winter programming centers on the snocross track and includes several distinct events. Michigan Snocross is the park’s regional series, now in its third season under the title sponsorship of Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel for 2025–2026. The Snowcross Border Cup is a cross-border competition developed in partnership with the Canadian Snocross Racing Association, pitting USA against Canadian competitors in a multi-round format. NPRP Ditchbangers is a separate grassroots snowmobile series described as open to all participants, featuring a snow oval enduro format alongside regular practice sessions. The park also hosts riding clinics, including sessions led by Tyler Archambault. Beyond winter, the facility has expanded into summer programming, running pit bike racing and side-by-side (SXS) racing events under a summer series that carries title sponsorship from Groundworks for the 2026 season.

The snocross track is available for private rental outside of scheduled practice times. A half-day rental covering four hours is priced at $1,250, while a full-day eight-hour rental is $1,500. Full facility rentals for custom events are negotiated individually through the park’s director.

The park maintains a named on-site operations team covering race direction, track crew, flagging, registration, scoring, grooming, and technical inspection.
